Course Overview

A General Nursing and Midwifery is a diploma course of 3 years duration(including internship) which deals with educating & preparing nurses in general health care, nursing & midwifery. They are capable of demonstrating competencies in providing comprehensive care & efficiently perform as health care team member.

What can one say about nursing! With the rapid growth in the population coupled with the requirement for better health care facilities there is unending demand for nurses across the globe. There is a huge gap in demand & supply due to nursing baby boomers, immigration etc. The lure for heavy monthly pay package& better living conditions attracts experienced nurses to move to greener pastures abroad. Both government & private undertakings offer a variety of platforms for them to work. They include hospitals, clinics, schools, rehabs, armed forces, nursing homes, industries. Job profiles include Staff Nurse, Home Nurse. The candidates can pursue for the Post Basic Nursing course.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Minimum and Maximum age for admission will be 17 and 35 years. There is no age bar for ANM/LHV.
  • Minimum education:
  • 10+2 class passed preferably Science (PCB) & English with aggregate of 40% marks.
  • 10+2 in Arts (Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective or Health care Science - Vocational stream ONLY, passing out from recognized Board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent Board with 40% marks.
  • 10+2 vocational ANM under CBSE Board or other equivalent board from the school and recognized by Indian Nursing Council with 40% marks. Registered as ANM with State Nursing Registration Council.
  • Student shall be medically fit.
  • Students qualified in 10+2 Arts or Science examination or Healthcare Science - Vocational stream ONLY conducted by National Institute of Open School with 40% marks.
  • Student shall be admitted once in a year.

Admission Procedure

  • Candidates are advised to verify their own eligibility carefully before applying for registration, as the fee will not be refunded if a candidate is found ineligible for the course.
  • All information filled in the registration form must be correct and complete as the admission of a candidate securing admission on the basis of incorrect or false or concealed information is liable to be canceled at any stage.
  • Registration forms for admission duly filled in should reach the office of the Institute/College on or before the date mentioned in the admission notice/form. Selection of the candidate is purely on ENTRANCE BASIS conducted by the College.
