I am humbled to join as a Vice Chancellor at the Shri Guru Ram Rai University (SGRRU). I express my profound gratitude to the SGRU community for working as a team to ensure that it becomes a leading, innovative, entrepreneurial, and technologically driven world class university. The university today holds the torch of illumination, giving shape to ideas and fostering innovation. SGRRU envisions itself as an institution of global standing, which fosters development of professionally competent talent and contributes to nation building. We are committed to provide an exceptional academic experience that will challenge and inspire the students to reach their full potential. We pride ourselves in providing environment that fosters academic and personal growth and world-class education that is affordable and accessible. SGRRU made a modest beginning in the year 1952 by the parent body of Shri Guru Rai Darbar Sahib. Since its inception, in the last 70 years it has worked tirelessly to bring to life its founder’s core philosophy: ‘to deliver education and health care for the betterment of mankind’. One man’s vision led to the creation of an institution that has today changed thousands of lives, developed countless communication building.
As an educational institution, we not only have a responsibility towards our state, but to the entire country. Most states collapse as a result of low level of education. Our vision is to educate more and more students, so that our country becomes more progressive and technologically developed. We want to tap the potential of this region and help the children realize their strengths and capabilities. Realizing our commitment to the people of this region we have decided to give admission to students at any point in their career to use education to further improve their prospects and brighten their future.
"Genius without education is like silver in the mine", these words of Benjamin Franklin are so true. Just like that, it's the teachers who polish their students by inspiring and empowering them to shine and succeed in every aspect of their life. Behind every successful man lies the lessons, efforts and guidance of teachers who equip their students with all the knowledge and skills to enter the real world. Now when I look back, I still remember all my teachers whom I saw as my role models, my mentors. I attribute all my achievements, accomplishments to the teachers who taught me at different levels.
