Course Overview

It is the backbone of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The course provides an in-depth knowledge about the screening of drugs, drug action at molecular level, adverse effects, dosage etc. Experiments on laboratory animals help to understand the nuances better. A state of the art Animal House cum breeding centre supports the needs of the Department (registered with CPCSEA). The overarching theme of research in the department is to discover the fundamental mechanisms related to drug actions and thus to strengthen research potentials. The major research areas of department includes psychopharmacology and screening of novel drug sources, screening folklore plants & flora of Uttarakhand to name a few.
